It is a sport of skill, speed, stamina and courage and 'camanachd', the sport of the curved stick, is an exciting as well as educational afternoon's entertainment.
The Silverfjord are proud sponsors of Kingussie Camanachd Club whose home pitch 'The Dell', is just a five minute walk away. Shinty has recently had a major change to its calendar. The game has now changed to a summer season where the league and various cups are played for between March and September making the game much more attractive to the spectator during the fairer months of the year.
Kingussie have successfully retained the Macauley Cup and the Mactavish cup this season and if they win their final league match againt Kilmallie on the Dell they will have won their 20th Marine Harvest National League Trophy in a row. The Camanachd Cup has proved ellusive yet again this year, but the Kingussie outfit will be even more hungry next year for success in Shinty's most prestigious trophy.
